Discover Wine Island Seafood, Llc.

Tucked away along 9698 E Main St in Houma, Louisiana, there’s a local treasure that has seafood lovers talking. Wine Island Seafood, Llc. isn’t your average coastal diner-it’s a warm, lively spot that feels like a celebration of Louisiana’s fishing heritage with every plate that leaves the kitchen. From the moment you walk in, the smell of freshly fried catfish and buttery crab boils fills the air, mixing with the easy laughter of regulars who’ve clearly made this their go-to place for years.

The restaurant’s atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between casual comfort and authentic southern charm. The tables are often filled with locals swapping fishing stories or visitors curious to taste what Houma seafood really means. The first time I dined here, I ordered the boiled shrimp platter-a local favorite-and it was nothing short of divine. The shrimp were plump and seasoned with just the right amount of Cajun spice. What truly stood out was how everything tasted fresh, like it had been caught that very morning. Later, I learned that much of the seafood actually comes from nearby Gulf waters, ensuring unbeatable quality and flavor.

When it comes to the menu, there’s something for everyone. Whether you crave fried oysters, blackened redfish, or a hearty seafood gumbo, each dish tells its own story of Louisiana’s coast. The gumbo, for instance, is rich and smoky, made with a dark roux that speaks to generations of cooking tradition. Locals say it’s one of the best in Terrebonne Parish, and after tasting it, I’d agree. What’s remarkable is how the kitchen doesn’t cut corners-every bite feels crafted, not rushed. It’s a level of care that’s hard to find in chain restaurants.

The restaurant’s team also understands hospitality on a personal level. During my visit, a staff member mentioned how their recipes have evolved through feedback from long-time customers, creating a menu that’s both consistent and inventive. That balance is probably what keeps diners returning week after week. And it’s not just about the food; the service here is genuine. They treat guests like family-whether you’re there for a quiet lunch or a group dinner after a long day of work on the bayou.

Industry data from the Louisiana Restaurant Association shows that locally sourced seafood ranks among the top preferences for diners seeking authentic regional cuisine. Wine Island Seafood embodies this trend perfectly by prioritizing fresh catches and simple preparation methods that highlight the natural sweetness of the seafood. Culinary experts often stress that freshness and local sourcing are what make southern coastal cuisine stand apart, and this diner proves that point effortlessly.

Food reviewers and travel bloggers have taken notice too. Several Houma food review pages mention this spot as a “hidden gem,” praising not only the seafood but also the generous portions and fair prices. It’s the kind of place that turns first-time visitors into loyal patrons. Some even drive in from neighboring parishes just for the crawfish étouffée during the spring season.

Located conveniently on 9698 E Main St, Houma, LA 70363, United States, it’s easy to find and even easier to fall in love with. Parking is simple, and the relaxed setting makes it ideal for casual dining, family gatherings, or simply a seafood feast after a day exploring Louisiana’s wetlands.

The beauty of this place is that it doesn’t rely on gimmicks or fancy decor-it relies on tradition, taste, and a deep respect for the region’s culinary roots. From the perfectly seasoned crab cakes to the hushpuppies that come out golden every time, every detail shows the team’s passion for quality. While there are other seafood spots in town, few deliver the same level of freshness and heart. It’s the kind of dining experience that reminds you why local restaurants matter-they’re part of the community, serving food that feels both personal and unforgettable.

  • Absolutely Delicious Crawfish & Friendly Service! Stopped by Wine Island Seafood and was blown away! The boiled crawfish were perfectly seasoned—spicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The potatoes and corn were a perfect addition, soaking up all that Cajun flavor. We also tried their fresh shrimp, and they did not disappoint—plump, juicy, and full of taste. And to top it off, the soft serve ice cream was the perfect sweet treat after a spicy meal. The owner was super friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. You can tell they put love into their food and their service. We’ll absolutely be back if we’re in the area again. Highly recommend! Wine Island Seafood, LLC

  • Just about the cheapest in town all the time. Quick in and out even without calling first. If you want to stay and chat, they welcome that too, lol! Crawfish were very clean and they give you options on sizes. Also, you have the option on exactly how many pounds you want in the sack. You don't even have to have a sack, they can dump them straight into your ice chest if you like. Definitely recommend!

  • The boiled seafood is as close to cooking it yourself as it can get. Most boiled seafood restaurants have a flavor that when eating you can tell whatever the boiled item is is bought from a restaurant. Not the case at Wine Island its like it was cooked at home!! Not to mention the employees treat you like family, that's much appreciated everyday!! I'll definitely keep coming back and recommend them to anyone.

  • We recently went to Wine Island Seafood to try the boiled crawfish & it did not disappoint!!!! The only thing I would do different is order more than 12lbs. We ordered the special & was happy but should have ordered 2 specials. The dip is special! It is better than any dip we’ve had before. The customer service is really really great! We will definitely will be returning!!

  • One dozen boiled crabs, 16 pounds of boiled crawfish. Everything was delicious. Also Got potatoes and corn everything was season. Perfect not too much salt and not too much seasoning. It was terrific. They did a wonderful job on bowling it. I will be back soon. Very nice people I give them a 10 I can’t have much salt And seasoning and it was terrific boiled just right for me. Wished I would’ve bought more crawfish but I will get some more . Usually when you buy crawfish, they are so spicy and salty you can’t eat them, but these people did an amazing job. Thank you very much. Terry Drachenberg.

  • The crawfish were awesome. The guys there will help you with anything you need. The guy at the counter showed me how to peel, & how you eat a crawfish. They were amazing. If you happen to be in Houma, LA. This is a must stop and eat place. Also bought a package of shrimp patties to take home.
